Rename Calendar

Can Outlook 2003 be "tweaked" to not use the default calendar if a meeting
request is accepted? When sharing calendars it gets confusing if all
calendars are called "Calendar"

I’d like to have the calendar renamed to "John’s calendar" but Outlook must
then not recreate a calendar named "Calendar", and it must then paste the
meeting if accepted to this "John’s calendar"

Is this because you make appointments for someone else and you don't
want them in your own mail calendar? If so, do you need to tally the
return acceptances/declines on the appointment? or does that matter?

Hi Nikki,
Yes in part what your saying is the reason. I have 6 calendars to check, all
by the name "Calendar" . Some or other time this will become a problem, I
will get it all in the wrong calendar.

You can rename the calendars:
Right click the Calendar folder that you created.
Select RENAME CALENDAR
Give it a different name like "Joe's Calendar".

Once you have renamed the Calendar, you need to make Joes appointments
from that calendar (Not from your main system calendar). However, any
return acceptances/declines will not be tallied on the tracking tab.

Is this Outlook 2003 and are these calendars in other user's mailboxes? if
so, open them using the shared calendar link and you'll see the owners name.
When you open them as additional mailboxes in your profile, you'll see only
Calendar.

You can have the calendar in both My Calendar list and the other calendar
list and as long as you select it from the other calendar list, you'll see
the users name at the top.

Hi Nikki,
Thanks for the info. My problem is just that last part you mentioned. If
renamed it can not handle the "ceptances/declines" automaticly :-(

Paul

This is the only way that will work.

We use outlook today and not the navigational pane. We have multiple
individual's calendars showing (using "choose folders") and all say
"calendar". Is there a way that we can re-name, or at least change what we
see?
Thanks

How are the mailboxes set up? With individual names or a generic profile?

Reason I ask is that all of my calendars for other users show the name in
the calendar window when opened.
