I have 3 accounts on XP logon screen. They are identified. Lets say they
are ONE, TWO, and THREE. The problem is that under documents and settings
the files are listed as ONE, TWO, and FOUR.

I want to change the FOUR to THREE but when I tried it gave me a message
that it is a system folder and cannot be changed. Is there a way to get the
file renamed without messing up all the subordinate folders?

Thanks

This is normal behavior. When accounts are first created, the "friendly"
name matches the folder name. If you later change the account name, the
friendly name changes but the folder names do not.

If it's very important to you to match up these names, use Control Panel>
User Accounts to rename the THREE account to something else. Then create a
new account named THREE. Log on to this account at least once to create its
folders.

To get personal files over to the new account, you could manually copy just
what is wanted/needed. Use File and Settings Transfer wizard. Or copy the
old account to the new one using System Properties> Advanced> User
Profiles. NOTE : You must be logged on to an account in the admin group to
do the copy and it cannot be the source or the destination account.
