I've got Windows XP and Vista b5365 installed on my only hard drive. I want
to remove Vista from the PC.

Since I'm now tied down with Vistas boot loader, how do I remove Vista
without losing my XP installation?

Look for a directory 'Boot' on your windows XP root directory. Just rename
them and reboot PC. After reboot, you can delete boot directory as well
format/delete your vista partition.

BTW, boot directory will be a hidden directory. So trun on 'Show all files'
on your windows explorer to see. Or you can directory type the directory in
windows explorer URL windows as 'c:\boot' which will enable the directory in
the explorer windows.

I would recommend backing up all of your files first. You just never know
how beta software may not like deleting or changing things.

Very important to backup files before you modify global settings, booting
options and BIOS settings :o)

If the Vista boot menu allows to dual boot to XP, you don't need to do
anything. It will still allow to do this after removing the Vista partition.

However if you'd like to remove the Vista boot menu then there's a tool to
do that in the Boot folder or the Vista DVD.
