Hi,

As I was browsing, a window popped up that asked me to
install software and since I was typing into the address
line at the moment, I accidentally pressed return and it
installed the software onto my computer. It put alot of
shortcuts all over my computer and in my web browser, but
I was able to uninstall it and remove the shortcuts. The
only thing I can't remove right now are these shortcuts
in IE. When I right-click on any web-page, it gives me
the normal options like "Back", "Forward," "Create
Shortcut," etc. But the intrusive software also added
these two nifty shortcuts to a pornography site and to a
work-at-home scam. Does anyone know how to get rid of
these?

Any help is grealy appreciated.

Also, I already ran ad-aware and spybot but both of those
didn't remove the shortcuts. What can I do next?

Hi Gene,

You can remove the right-click context menu in Internet Explorer using these
steps:

Removal of a Right-click Context menu:

1. Click Start | Run | type "REGEDIT"
2. Navigate to the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\MenuExt.
Each subkey of this key represents one menu item. Many will include an
ampersand (&) to define the underlined key associated with the command.

Highlight the key you want to delete (for example,
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\MenuExt\Zoom &In).
Choose Export from the Registry menu and export that branch to a file.

Now delete the key.
