Hi,
At one point in time our network servers we were running in "mix mode" (W2K
SP3 and NT4 SP6a); that transition period is over and all servers are now
running in "Native mode".
One of our server had the "Exchange 5.5 System Management" component
installed to remoteley administrate the "Exchange 5.5" server. That
component was uninstalled as we are now running Exchange 2000 (sp3) on a
different server.
As I try to install the "Exchange 2000 System Management" on the same server
that used to have the one for Exch. 5.5, it detects that the 5.5 components
is still there...along with the Exchange server itself (which was on a diff.
server) and only offers me to "Upgrade" to the new version.
I do not have access to the "Custom" option which would allow me to only
have "System Mangement" component installed. I believe that if I could get
rid of all Registry entries having to do with the "System Mangement" of
Exch. 5.5 that would solve my problem.
The question is...how do I go about doing this other than manually and risk
screwing everything up?
Is anyone aware of any reliable "registry cleaner" type of programs
available somewhere that would clean up the registry from "unused
entries"...or is this everybody's dream of having such a pgm?
Thanks,
Claude
