Removing time stamp and other text from video clips

How do you remove the time stamp and other text from video clips in Windows
Movie Maker? I've research and someone suggested DeLogo Virtual Dub. I can't
get it to work for me. Is there something else I can use?

If the delogo filter in Virtual Dub isn't sufficient for you, consider
covering it up with a logo or something else appropriate for the footage.
