Removing the image on a slide.

Hi,

In a prepared slideshow can I remove the image on a slide to replace the
image with another?
I'd prefer not to delete the slide.

Andy,
Select the image, delete it, insert the new one.
If the image was inserted using a slide design, same thing, select the
image, delete it, click/or double click on the little icon 'insert picture'
in the placeholder, select your new picture, insert.
Or if the image is in the background of the slide, format background, click
on the listarrow, choose fill effects, picture tab, insert picture button,
select the picture, apply.
If none of those things work, report back.

Thank you Luc. The first line of your reply was all I needed.........plus a
little moral fortitude ...duh!
When I was selecting the picture it seemed I had selected the text box.
(These tiny corner markers didn't show up too well on the picture.)
Then the EDIT drop-down menu had no "delete picture". CLEAR seemed a bit
drastic, but I finally mustered up some courage and ....success! and the
sound, animations etc. were retained.

Another thing, Luc. In addition to the *inserted* picture I also have a
slide with a picture which is a *background*, i.e it was placed there by
FORMAT | BACKGROUND | FILL EFFECTS | etc.
In part of your reply it seems that you describe how to put in a background
picture. I would like to know how to get it out, (without deleting the
slide).

Will that remove the offending picture or just cover it up?
