I have an icon on my start menu below the search and run icons that I want to get rid of. It's a Do more with Gateway program. I uninstalled the program but the icon to it is still there. Thanks.

Hi Jeff,

Right click on the start button and click on properties. Click on customize
and flip to the advanced tab. Scroll down the list of start menu items and
uncheck "Manufacturer's lilnk".

I have Windows XP and that option isn't listed in the advanced tab categories. Is this Manufactures Link some place else where I could find and do what you said. Thanks. Jeff

When you bring up the properties dialog, click on the Start Menu tab,
then click the Customize button next to "Start menu" (top button), then
click the Advanced tab. Under "Start menu items:" you'll find
"Manufacturer's Link" at the bottom of the visible part of the box. It's
between Favorites menu and My Computer.

Alternately, you can change it to whatever you want if you'd like.

Jeff;

Right click on the start button,
Click properties,
Click the Start Menu tab at the top,
Click the top Customize button (not the bottom one),
Click the Advanced tab at the top,
Scroll down in the list (first item should be Control Panel),
There will be a check box labeled "Manufacturer Link",
Uncheck that,
Click ok
Click ok
Click start and it's no longer there.
