removing space formating ?

My question is, how can I copy and paste a row of cells without
importing any table formatting with it ?

In order to use our data retrieval system, 9 digit references need to
be entered into a single (seemingly endless) data field. The issue is
the tab/space formatting when being copied over.The references (I have
500 in one file) have to be separated by a semi colon with no
tab/spaces for the data to be returned.
At the moment my method is to copy and paste into wordpad (no wrap),
then copy and paste into Word and manually set the tab size to zero.
THEN copy all into one cell of a worksheet (to remove the columns).
This eventually erases all space formatting so data can be entered and
get a return.

If I could copy and paste from worksheet to data field, oh what happy
days.....

Seems like a nice excel macro could do it quickly. If desired, send your

In Word why not use the command Table, Convert, Text to Table and set the
delimiter (Other) as a semi colon?

The copy the Word table and paste into Excel. If you don't want border and
stuff you can suppress them in Word or choose Edit, Paste Special, Unicode
Text in Excel.
 
Use pure text (it's free and great for copying and pasting) and that
converts your stuff to text and start the cell with a '
