I am trying to remove the archived entries for "Search for
Files and Folders" but cannot do so. The only article I
could find about it was this one:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;271808 It says to look for "Doc Find Spec MRU," but I
can find no such key. The article is for Win 98, but
there is nothing analagous for Win 2000. Does this "Doc
Find Spec MRU" exist somewhere else in 2000 than it does
in 98, or does it have a different name? Thanks in
advance!

There are numerous MRU lists stored in the registry, By the OS, it's
components, MS and other vendors' applications.....

You may be looking for this one (W2K)
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Explorer Bars
\{C4EE31F3-4768-11D2-BE5C-00A0C9A83DA1}\FilesNamedMRU\

(or similar)

Some anti-Adware-SpyWare prgrams such as
SpyBot Search and Destroy
http://www.safer-networking.org/

also find, list and offer to "clean" such MRU listings.
