My old systems motherboard took a big dump and I am trying to access my
personel folder on the old hard drive with the new system I have built.
But I can not access the folder. It's giving me a "access denied"
message. How can I remove the permissions to this folder using CACLS so
I can access the files in this folder. Please Help.........

The only problem is I can't boot from the old hard drive. I was
thinking that the CACLS option is the only one I have right now.

You don't need to boot from the old hard drive. Slave the old hard drive
in your new system and boot into the working XP install. I thought this
was what you were doing. Then read the instructions at the two links I
already gave you and take ownership of the files. You don't need to get
fancy with this.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. I didn't think by making those chsnges with
the current (working) OS that it would be possible to make the changes.
I'm sure you will be hearing from me again.
Thanks.............Vinny
