removing parts of programs

I have tried to remove certain programs from add/remove in control panel.
There are some I can't remove at all. Norton Antivirus and Panda Software are
2 particular ones that are giving me problems. I have recently tried to
play a new pc game and Symantec (Norton Software) keeps giving me error
messages. That prevents me from playing the game. Does any one know how I
can get rid of program files other than going through the control panel?

Well, first things first: Antivirus software is critical. I said "critical."
You absolutely must not under any circumstances operate a computer without
antivirus software. Find out why the games are giving you error messages -
could they contain viruses? - and solve those problems. But don't every
operate a computer without antivirus software running at all times.

However, it is a mistake to use two antivirus software programs at the same
time. This will actually make your computer more vulnerable to infection,
not less. So choose which program you want to use and uninstall the other.

To correctly uninstall antivirus software you must follow the instructions
from the company's web site:
