Outlook Express was not designed to be removed in Windows XP.
If you attempt to remove it, you'll end up reinstalling XP.

Outlook Express is an integral part of Internet Explorer, so you would have
to remove IE.

Bruce

Removing will be hazardous to you computers stability.
Other applications require this to be installed. ie. DLL
files and such...

It can be done.......

Look at XPLite from http://www.litepc.com/xplite.html

Outlook Express is just one of many parts of the default Windows install
that it can remove.

Martin.

1. Totally unsupported!
2. Windows Update will no longer function properly!
3. Not at all recommended!

Funny that the ONE part of the MS package that open so many doors to
virus attacks CANNOT be removed "safely" from the suite. With so many
tech sites even advising us NOT to use Outlook at all, one wonders why
MS seems to continue to be so ignorant of the wished of all the users
who would simply like to remove it.
Smells like the browser war is still smoldering at MS....
Just MHO. ;-Deano

yeah i know, but there must be a way to remove it, even if microsloth
makes it difficult. it's just a matter of which files and registry
entries to keep, which to get rid of.

so, where do i find information about this "wonderful" os? useful
information, and not some cheesy site or book dedicating a whole chapter
on how to create a folder.

thank you. have an awesome day.

Thus spoke Deano:

Attempting to remove Outlook Express will produce the same
result as pulling a couple of spark plug wires from your car's
engine. Use a decent antivirus program and you won't have to
worry about any attacks:

Norton Internet Security 2004
http://www.symantec.com/sabu/nis/nis_pe/features.html

-- Includes Norton AntiVirus 2004
-- Includes Norton Personal Firewall
-- Includes prevention of annoying web pop-ups
-- Includes Parental Controls
-- All in one, easy-to-install package
