Removing Outlook Icon from desktop

Can Outlook2002 default icon be removed from the desktop? If this is
possible; how?
 
I don't necessarily want to delete it; just to remove it "temporarily" from
sight. Thanks for the reply Diane. I figured there may have been an obscure
way, -as with IE- whereby one removes it by the advanced tab of IE
options>"Show IE on Desktop".
