I am not sure about the current version, but in previous
versions, Outlook used Outlook Express. When using that
previous version (don't recall which) removing Outlook
Express goofed up my Outlook.

Don't remove it.
Just delete the shortcut icons to it so that you don't see any evidence of
its existence unless you know where to look. It only consumes about 4MB, and
chances are there are lots more files and folders on your local drive where
you can delete unusued things without risking your operating system becoming
corrupted.

In Windows XP Home Ed.
start-->programs-->accessories-->system tools-->Disk
cleanup. Select drive C. Go to "More Options" then
to "Windows components" and click, "cleanup..."
A list will be generated which contains outlook express.
Uncheck the box that says Outlook Express and Ok.
If you want to reinstall it, follow the same steps but put
a check in the box. You'll be prompted for your Windows
install CD.

ive allready gone through and removed it, but everytime i
update windows it get reinstalled along with several
other programs i dont want (Messenger, Media player,
internet explorer, outlook express, msn gaming zone
folder, etc..)

That doesn't remoce OE - it only removes ACCESS to OE.

In XP (presuming that is what you are using) you CAN'T uninstall OE. (Just
as you CAN'T uninstall IE). They are for all intents and purposes part of
the OS.

If you expect Outlook to keep working, don't remove Outlook Express.
The way that I understand it, they share more than a few files.
