Removing original soundtrack

Having imported clips, I wish to completely remove the original soundtrack
from those and add a fresh one recorded by myself. How do I turn off the
original soundtrack?

In timeline view...right click / mute the current sound track.

Add the new sound track to the Audio/Music track.
