Removing or deleting picture formerly set as wallpaper

How can I remove the pictures in the background list under
Control Panel-Display ? When I try to Edit Pattern and
Remove, the option is not available. THANX

If you select the picture in the list and click on Browse, it will
take you to the directory the file is in.
