Created multiple restore points during new/re install.
Do they take up much space?
any reason to keep "oldies" prior to current stable point?
How to remove?
Thanks!

Use Disk Clean Up in your system tools. The second tab "More Options" has a
button to remove all but the most current restore point.
Yes they can take up a lot of space. Look at the size of your "System Volume
Information" folder before and after you do the cleanup.

i agree. get rid of them. when i had serious trouble with my xp last winter,
i made several to make sure that i could go back to the state b4 my last
change. it wasn't long before i'd filled up a large percentage of my 20GB
hd.

If you goto the Start menu, and right click on "My Computer", select
"Properties". Then select the "System Restore" tab, this will display how
much space is being used for your restore points. This is the maximum space
and the system will delete the oldest restore points when it reaches this
size. Be carful if you turn it off as you will not be able to go back.
Depending on how much you install / uninstall / change programs it will
depend on how you leave your restore points and how often you may need to
use them.

You were right -Appers the default setting for percentage of disk
space is 'maximum' - In my case a little over 4.6 gigs!
thanks 'yall!

Rick
