removing Norton internet security after updating from windows 98 to windows xp

I recently got around to updating my o/s to xp. I
originally had win 98'. Everything smooth exept my NIS
02". I cannot uninstall it, it tells me that I need to
log on to it as a admin or to that extent of. But I
cannot open it because xp shoots a warning at me saying
due to your recent installation of an upgrade.. I must
unstall and reinstall...a problem, I can't uninstall.




please help or direct me to somewere that can.. :)
