I have my son on a limited account, but with access to my
computer & windows explorer, he can navigate to the
program folder and start programs I am trying to keep him
from using.
I want to let him have one account witb unrestricted
access where he can only do homework. And another account
that when I am around, I can let him in to play.

Are you using FAT32 or NTFS as your file system? If you were using NTFS and
using the default security settings, your son's limited account would not
be able to access the Program Files folder and subfolders.

Right click a hard drive and select Properties to see which file system is
in place.

Check Help and Support for information about NTFS and FAT32. There is a
conversion tool in XP to change from FAT32 to NTFS. Also discussed in help.
A link for an article that goes into the conversion process in more depth:

Sharon,
I am using NTFS. I have not changed any security
settings.

Hmm, a limited user should not be able to what your son is doing. Because
you wanting to limit access to specific programs, I think that there may be
a better way to go about this. MVP Doug Knox created a nice little program
called "Doug's Windows XP Security Console." It allows you to block access
to programs on a per user basis. You can find the tool here:
