I want to either disable messenger from working or
completly remove it from my system. I went into RUN
before and I typed in a command I found from a XP help
tips & tricks website but I forget the command. The
command took me to a program mannanger type thing to
either disable or enable certain programs. I am sure
someone on here knows what I am talking about... if so
please help. Thanks

Greetings,

To fully remove Windows Messenger, close down Messenger if it's running (right click
the messenger icon in the notification area/system tray and click close). Then click the
start button, then click Run and type in (copy-paste if you like):

RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

Then click OK.
Messenger will then be uninstalled. For more detailed instructions and screenshots, go to,
