While viewing a picture with Windows picture and fax viewer, I was exploring
the function of the different buttons at the bottom of the viewer. When I
clicked the button for "start slide show", I got a long series of images,
banners, buttons, etc. from internet browsing. I'd like to remove that stuff
from my system, but can't figure out how to do it. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Try emptying your Temporary Internet Files folder. This is where the
items like you describe are stored until removed.

And if you can't find that, go to -
Windows Explorer / Documents and Settings / <your user name folder > / Local
Settings.
While you're at it, clean out the Temp folder above it.

And do (in IE) Tools > Internet Options > Clear History, Delete Files, and
Delete Cookies

These fixes should solve your problems...

Next time you recreive pictures you want to save, right click on the picture
and select "Save picture as..." in the resulting menu. This gets a typical
"Save as" dialog box with provision for filename and folder to save it in.

It would appear that you fixed the problem yourself. No guarantees but I
doubt that the trash will reappear after this.
