Fiestly thanks to jan and Don for replies to earlier posts. Thought wise to
give repost as to current actions/system responses which hopefully will be
more helpful.

From Kelly's Corner (tks Jan) ran follwing command:

"D:\iesetup.exe" /c:"ie6wzd.exe d/s:""D:\iesetup.exe""" where D: is CD drive
where IE6 is. mounted

On running this, a windows update windo appears stating:

The Windows Update: Internet Explorer and Internet tools files on your
computer are not the correct files for your operating system. Setup will now
download the correct fileds from the Internet. Do you want to conrinue?

Selecting OK, A wized appears; initializing setup for installation , then
allowing download options to be set: Download folder and type of system to
install on. It tries to download but get eror window stating:

Setup was unable to download the required componets. Please make sure you
are connected to the internet and try setup again later. Try to resiume (by
clicking link on desktop) but get the message:

Setup has detected a newer version of IE already installed on this system.
Setup cannot continue.

Went to C:\Windows\Windows Update Setup Files (where the download would have
temporaily stored download). Files there assumed to be from previous online
updates (folder was safe to delete). Tried to install directly from here but
got same message as above (newer version already installed)

Tried to remove IE7 (assumed to be the installed culprit) vai Control Panel
Add/Remove (tks Don) but could find a reference to it even the showing
updates.

So there we are.........How do I remove IE7 now ????

PS: I don't normally install Beta software. Lesson learnt!
