Andrew

I want to remove IE6.0 and use Netscape on my machine.
I've gone through "Add/Remove Programs," it has gone away
from there, but the browser is still intact, and when I
open certain website links from the desktop, I still have
IE open automatically. I want to totally remove the
program. How would I do this? I can't seem to delete
the "Internet Explorer" folder, it says the program is in
use. Thanks much.

You cannot remove IE from Windows XP. It's not a good idea to try to remove
it from other versions of Windows. Remove shortcuts to IE and make Netscape
the default browser. The internet shortcuts should then open with Netscape.
If some don't, recreate them.

However, if you insist ;-)
IEradicator is a tiny, script that uses the Windows setup engine to
surgically remove Internet Explorer versions 3 through 6.0 from Windows 95,
Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows Millennium and Windows
2000(sr1).

Don,

Let's say that someone did remove IE6 from XP sp1 via
Add/Remove (and regretting every second of it). As you
probably are aware message "User Interface
failure ...msgina.dll failed to load". Tried replacing
file in safe mode via floppy can't get c prompt. Am I
screwed? TAB
