Removing ICS from XP

Is there a way to uninstall ICS completely in Windows XP.
Although I have two LAN cards, neither is used for ICS. One is for accessing
the LAN which has it's own gateway, the other is used to control a network
device that has a different IP and subnet (details are not necessary here).
The ICS icon says enabled on my network properties and when I disable it, it
enables itself once I open a browser.
ICS is not necessary for my purposes and I do not want it utilizing any
resources whatsoever.

How can I completely remove the ICS? Is it possible?

Thanks,
Al

It isn't possible to un-install ICS.

What icon are you looking at that says Enabled? Is it an Internet
Gateway icon? If so, it has nothing to do with ICS. That icon
represents your gateway router, and it lets you monitor and control
the gateway router.

Yes... it is the Internet Gateway Icon.
The wording in the properties seemed to indicate it was a function or object
related to ICS.

I apologize for any confusion.

Thank you very much for enlightening me on it's purpose. It is good to know
that your out there trying to help.

Cheers,
Al

Interesting. Can you explain what text led you to this conclusion.
Originally the Internet Gateway would only work with ICS hosts (we expanded
it to included any UPnP gateway before XP shipped) so it's possible we left
in some ICS specific text.
