I have just set up another account (for my young grandson) and want to
remove non-relevant shortcuts - but I can't - I get a message that "Access
is Denied" so I guess I need to do something in my account.

Please can someone advise me.

Obviously - most of your desktop icons are in the "All Users" profile, not
the individual user's profiles.

You need to copy/move the icons you don't want on your son's desktop from
the "All Users" profile/desktop to the desktop of the users you do want them
on.

C:\Documents and Settings\<usernames>

I suppose you could just log on as administrator

then delete the unwanted icons from the desktop folder of your grandson's
profile

Thanks both of you.
