Removing high threat items

When I run a scan with AntiSpyware I get two high threat
items that keep coming up. I select Remove and then
reboot my computer, but they're still there. One is
called IPInsight and seems to be a bunch of registry
keys; the other is identified as "()" and consists of
files like the following:
c:\program files\mysearch\bar\1.bin\partner.dat.
What is this all about? Why aren't they being "removed"
when I request it? Can I anyone explain this? (Sorry if
this has been addressed before, but there's no search
facility for these groups.)

Hi

- First send a suspected spyware report to MS about this,
menu tools within MSAS.

IPInsight removal, comes from Morpheus p2papp
http://www.intermute.com/spyware/IPInsight.html

Then I think if you restart in safe mode, press F8 during reboot
and then choose fullscan with all options checked you will also
remove mysearch bar.

To make your cleaning even better also download/install
these programs. Run them both in safe mode.

CCleaner, removing all temporarily junk

Lavasofts Adaware
http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022-10319876.html?tag=list
* Also watch the video from Cnet about Adware within page
for best result.*

hopefully on the final version the Microsoft Antispyware
would be improved so we wouldn't have to go to safe mode
and delete spyware which i found very confusing and time
consuming and very difficult for a non computer savy
enough user. please make MSAS easy to use and remove
spyware.

Yep, that is why the Microsoft AntiSpyware Team needs as much feedback as
possible in the beta release. Thats why we should also remember to send in
our suspected spyware reports from tools menu. I guess a big challenge also
is variants of these spyware program.

Thanks, Plun. Where does IPInsight come from anyhow?

Hi

Glad it worked. IPInsight comes bundled with Morpheus 2
and software from Blue Haven Media.

Hi,

MWAS needs to run in Safe Mode at times in order to cut the culprits off
before they run. It's a lot harder to play whack-a-mole with a running
process than one that is static and not running.
