I used a template for a quick website for a friend.
However as it truns out we do not need the parts of the site that use FP Ext.
(Search.. MsgBoard...) The Co. that host the site notes our FP extentions
are corrupt. I am having probs getting all this squared away..
Can I remove any FP Extentsion from my current local site. before I publish
next?
Thanks,

Hi JE,

The FrontPage extensions are installed on a server for your domain..to allow
you to do certain things with FrontPage. they are not exactly *in* your site
though. So as far as using things that rely on the extensions to
function..if you wish to remove those..then delete the pages that are using
them. You don't need to reconfigure anything within FrontPage itself in
order to do that.

If you want those pages however to continue to function..then either you
(if you have a control panel that allows it) or your host..will need to fix
the extensions on the server. It isn't something you control locally with
your copy of FrontPage.

Simply remove the web pages from the site that use the server extensions.

You don't actually "remove the extensions" themselves, as there are aspects
of Frotnpage that use them that are not as obvious as features like the
discussion forum, guestbook, site search component. Other features such as
the http:// publishing process uses the server extensions to publish the
files, track changes to your site, keep hyperlinks in order among other
things.

If you need to remove the extenions completely you should be able to through
your control panel on your hosting account - otherwise your host can do
this.
