removing email alert in start up 'welcome'

umm well when i go to log on to my pc just before i type
my passwprd there is another persons email saying i have
X number of emails to check...this is really annoying and
i was wondering if anyone could help me delet this alert
or put my email account in instead!!!

This sounds like a worm, virus, Trojan, or adwear attack... Run a virus
protection program, and a spywear program
try spybot search & destroy for adwear

Start, Run and enter CONTROL USERPASSWORDS2 Go to the Advanced tab and click Manage Passwords. Remove the reference to the offending e-mail address. Then download and install TweakUI for Windows XP Go to the Repair section and choose Repair Unread Mail Count from the dropdown.
