Removing desktop backgrounds

I'm trying to delete some of my backgrounds in the ,
Display-Desktop area and I can't seem to find a way to do
this. I don't know how these pictures ended up there
because I just downloaded them to my documents. Anyway
any help I could recieve will be greatly appreciated.
