Your Active Directory metadata is corrupt since you did not dcpromo the
server down and then remove it. MS has a article that describes how to clean
this up. Do a web search and you will find it.
You may want to use dcpromo /forceremoval command to force the demotion. this MS Article collections may help,

i have a DC that i removed awhile back but it still shows up when i browse my
network. how do i remove it.
i did a dcpromo before i removed from the network. the server does not think
that it is a dc but when i browse the network that domain still shows up.
