Removing Created Restore points in System Restore

I need help in removing unneeded restore points I had
previously nstalled, I am running Windows XP Profesional,
some one please advise.

If your computer is running fine now shut off system
restore service,then reboot and turn it back on and
create a new checkpoint. This will delete all past
checkpoints.
Also when the space allotcated for checkpoints is low a
new checkpoint will replace the oldest one even through
it may still be listed
 
The system restore points cannot be erased selectively. Instead, use Disk
Cleanup and purge all system restore points except the last point. Click
Start/Run/Cleanmgr / More Options / system restore /cleanup.
