Hi I have installed a dual boot (win98, Win 2k) and have subsequently
removed Win 2k. When I boot the pc I still get asked which operating system
I want to boot to. When I chose win 2k, naturally I get an error because the
directory is gone. I thought boot.ini had the details but I have edited it
and removed the option but I still get asked which system do I want to boot
to. Can anyone advise on how to rectify this proble.?

You can boot with your Win98 startup disk and issue the command
sys C:
this will rewrite the boot sector, then you can delete these files boot.ini,
ntldr, ntdetect.com, bootsect.dos, pagefile.sys and possibly ntbootdd.sys
from the root of the System partition C:\., then you can delete the Windows
2000 boot partition.

Cheers Dave tvm.
