Removing audio from a downloaded video

How do I remove audio from a previously create wmv file? I want to add my own
music to the total movie. When I click on a clip and go to "Clip" on the
toolbar and then to "audio" it does not allow me to change the audio level or
mute it.

Drag the clip to the timeline.

Right click the Audio track and
choose "Mute" from the menu.
