I cna not for the life of me remove the "READ ONLY"
attribute for a Excel worksheet. I had made the sheet and
put important info on it and saved it to a CDRW and I
want to add some more info to it and now Excel tells me I
can't because it "read only"!! I'm so mad right now I'm
about to pull what little hair I got left out!!

All I want to do is put the info on the cdrw WITHOUT ANY
attributes.

HELP me please!!

I have tried all kinds of settings to no avail.

Thanks
ALan

AFAIK, when you write files to a CD, they automatically get the read-only
attribute. I think you can remove it through Windows Explorer by using File
| Properties and clearing the Read-only checkbox.

Alan,

Save the updated workbook to the hard drive, then copy it to the CD. CD
files always have the read-only attribute set, even when copied to the hard
disk. Go figure.

As a rule, it's not a good idea to save directly to removable media.

Don't be angry with Excel.

When you write to CD the attribute is set to Read Only by Windows OS.

Browse through Andy McFadden's FAQ on CDRW to get a clearer picture.
