Word removing annoying toolbars from Word

I installed a macro utility in word that I hardly ever use but the toolbar always appears, annoyingly. There are a couple of others I dont need/want like the ones Adobe Acrobat creates. How do i remove these, or rather prevent them from appearing every time i open/create a new document? I have tried changing normal.dot but they still appear - any ideas?
