Removing and then readding a server with the same name

My plan is to move a servers roles and responsibilities to another server.
Shut down the server and do a fresh format and reinstall. Bring up a new
server with the same name and same IP. I know that a new SID is created when
the domain is joined. Once this server joins the domain, will there be any
issues. Is there going to be A UUID problem? I want to them move the FSMO
roles and data back to the server. Am I on the right track? Thank you in
advance.

So long as you do the migration first and verify that the roles have
transfered to the new server and replicated then you would do a dcpromo and
remove the server as a controller. Once that is done, remove it from the
domain and then you should be fine to do a format and reinstall. Just make
sure replication is done or as you say you may have a SID problem.
