Matt

Has anyone "removed" networking and reinstalled it on a Win2K server? Can
this be done? Thanks in advance.

Hi Matt,

Are you talking about TCP/IP? If it's a DC, have a look at article 299451.
Quite a hassle.
What are your problems?

Marina

The problem relates to my earlier thread, which when I thought it through,
relates to the Workstation service (and subsequent Net Logon service) not
starting on a Win2K DC. I've looked everywhere I can think of for an answer
and have yet to find one. Prior to your post I was hoping removing and
reinstalling networking would fix the Workstation service. In the NT days
this was a quick and easy process, but it sounds as though that's not the
case with Win2k.

I've seen the Workstation service issue before, the cause being a hardware
failure. However, the hardware is working properly on this server. Do you
have any ideas? I've patched the server. Can't think of anything else to
try.

Thanks for your posts, and thanks in advance for any advice.

I did, and failing another solution, I'm going with the procedure. Thanks
for the hint. I'm just going to have to budget for a day's work, in case
something bad happens. I'll report back my results when I get to this.
Thanks again.
Matt
