Now that I've installed all that there is from
Windows XP Plus! SuperPack, there is a new icon
on my Desktop for Labyrinth.exe which I'd like
to delete...but it won't let me right click and
delete in the usual way.......Please advise.
(I posted this in the Plus NG but that NG gets
little attention. This is, however, a sort of
a basic question.........)

Is Labyrinth.exe listed in the Add/Remove program in control panel ?
If it is, highlite it and select Remove.

Looked there.....sorry, no, it isn't. I'd be glad to remove
the Labyrinth program itself along with the icon. Any more
advice? (Thanks for responding; in the Plus newsgroup, there is
pitifully little support, and the Microsoft website is no help
at all).

It may be a NameSpace item.
If so remove it from the Registry using Regedit.
It should appear under the key: (along with the Recycle Bin, Inbox
etc.)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\Desktop\NameSpace

It is good practice to export any key before deletion in case of
error.

Don't delete this one. It is the Recycle Bin.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}

If no luck in removing Labyrinth.exe,
Do a search for it, and copy all the addresses to the file.

You can then reboot in safe mode and using the CMD prompt,
type CD\ to put you in the root directory,
Change to the file addresses one at a time and delete them.

Good luck,
Jerry

Before you reboot in safe mode,
while you are still in search mode,

highlite all the files and select delete in the file menu.
This will usually delete them but not always.

Alan, I got to the registry location for NameSpace.....
there are 4 items shown there, typical monstrous
numbers and letters, none identified as the labyrinth
item. So I just exited and am back here asking for
your next advice.....

OOPS!! I did a search, found Labyrinth.exe as a Desktop item,
right clicked and deleted, and it is gone. Dunno why I
didn't do that in the first place. I think I may have simply tried
to delete it from Desktop by right clicking and delete......
But thanks for the advice. It is gone, and thank you.
