Removing an Add-in

I just uninstalled Spam-Inspector. Now when I launch
Outlook an error message pops up saying it could not be
installed or loaded, but maybe resolved by using Repair &
Detect. Unable to load Spam-Inspector missing a .dll file.
I haven't used Repair & Detect before, is this the way to
eliminate the error message or is there another way?

As an apology for reposting this as though it were mine, here is my
suggestion. If you don't get any others try it (it's what I would do,
anyway).

Go to Tools > Options> Other tab, click Advanced.
Click 'COM Addins' and deselect this addin.
That will only work, I think, if it was added for only you, not
everyone using the machine (and not knowing the addin I don't know
what options it gave you anyway).
That will stop Outlook trying to load it.

Alternatively - and you shoud probably do this anyway because it will
stop Outlook knowing about it at all -

Run regedit from the start/Run menu.

Look for the key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Software
Microsoft
Office
Outlook
Addins
If you see the addin as a sub-key of Addins, delete it (select the
entry under Addins in the treeview on the left and hit the del key).

If you don't see it there, then repeat but look under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE instead of HKEY_CURRENT_USER.

As always when dealing with the registry, be careful!

Sigh....

Sorry about reposting this. I guess my Usenet add-in has another bug -
when it posts an item it's just read from the NNTP Server it seems to sometimes
catch the post and treats it as something *I* want to post.
Damn.

Sorry again - just testing my fix for this...

Find and delete extend.dat - ?

Hello... I'm looking for help. This has nothing to do
with the thread below. I replied to this as the only way
I could post a message, because when I try to post, I get
a message asking if I want to debug. when I click yes, it
gets to a point where I can't continue. That's one
problem. the problem I was trying to post is: whenever I
start Outlook, I get an error message that ends
with "dgnword.dll" is not a valid add-in. when I click ok
on this twice, the message goes away and Outlook works
correctly. How can I fix this as well as the debug
problem?? Any help will be greatly appreciated!!
Dan

Going to COM Add-ins. In the same window I went to Add-
ins manager and disabled the add-in that was giving me the
error.
