Hi,

Can i just verify again on the removing of Active
Directory by running "dcpromo". Pls. correct me if i wrong.

I have an operation AD Domain name "Netdom", it is an
operation Domain name for my organisation. I have another
child domain name "child.Netdom". Due to some unforseen
circumstances, i decide to demote the child domain(the
only DC in the child domain). However, what should be the
steps, i just afraid to remove my Netdom Domain.
Step 1: Enter dcpromo, click on the "This server is the
last domain controller in the domain" and click next.
Step 2: Enter the username and password of the "Netdom"
Domain.
Step 3: Enter the administrator password of the
child.netdom and click next.
Step 4: Click next on confirm removing the "Child.Netdom"
Domain.
Pls. let me know whether the above mention steps is
corrected. I just afraid, i deleted the "Netdom" Active
Directory Domain.
Thanks again.

on child domain controller run dcpromo, select that this is the last dc in
the domain. That is teh procedure. You won't remove your root domain.
