I am trying to remove the Internet Explorer program file
from my computer and I am not allowed. The systems says it
is a protected file, how do I unprotect that file.

Internet Explorer is an integral component of Windows XP
and it cannot be removed. If you're have problems, reinstall it.

Internet Explorer is integrated with the operating system and the files
should not be removed. If you need to repair Internet Explorer, there are
other ways to accomplish this.

When it says to change the 1 to a 0.... which 1 are they talking about since
there are more than one in this key?

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed
Components\{44BBA840-CC51-11CF-AAFA-00AA00B6015C}

Change the value data from 1 to 0, and then click OK.
