My XP media center computer is trying to find a DHCP and
DNS assigned to a NIC card that does not exist in my
machine. I can't seem to find a way to remove the details
on this card. Any one have a suggestion or two?

From device manager, select view to show hidden devices. If you can see
the NIC, remove it. This seems to me to suggest that the current NIC is
either not configured properly or it needs third party drivers which are
not installed.

Show hidden device alone won't work. Boot in safe mode, otherwice you won't see
non-existing PnP devices. (there is a trick to see them in normal mode as well)
