Removing a driver from bootup

I've got a 2K AS, SP4 with a particular software app that I want to completely remove. I've done the uninstaller (Uninstall wizard complains about not being able to successfully remove it) and tried to clear it out of the registry. There are some keys that I can't remove related to this software. It gives me an error message when I try to remove them. Also, it tries to load a .SYS file on boot up that I am trying to delete as well. I've looked at boot.ini, but can't find the troublesome file there
Anyone know where else boot devices are parsed from so I can go look at that as well? Did I mention the software I am trying to remove is CRAP? Thanks in advance for any help.
