Removing a crashed DC from AD

The first DC in the forest had a hardware failure & I need to completely
remove it from AD since the remaining servers are still trying to replicate
to it & it is generating tons of errors. Demoting this server is impossible
since it is toast. Thanks

Follow the metadata cleanup process in this KB.

This will allow you to remove all references to the dead DC from Active
Directory and should clear up the errors.

Also if this was the first DC in the AD then you will need
to seize all of the fsmo roles unless you moved them to
another DC prior to the crash
