Removeit.hta (removal tool?)

Hello all,
My friend has a problem when his machine starts up, the following virus
/ Trojan ? is found during start up: C:/Removeit.hta, he not being very
computer savvy would like to know , do any of you guys Know of a removal
tool that will fit to a floppy and get rid of it at boot up? his current A/V
(avg / grisoft) says to start up with a clean system disc etc etc....

I think you will find that most all virus detection engines and their
attendant pattern files, etc., have exceeded the size of a floppy several
times over. A CD perhaps?

Yes a CD would do also!

assuming you using win XP or 2000
just hold down the F8 key while booting
you should get a boot menu that will allow you to start windows in
"safe mode" a clean version of windows ie no drivers, tsrr's etc
loaded.....then scan with avg

if using win9x/me
boot from windows startup disk and at the A:\ type the following
coomands after typing each one press enter key
c:\
del Removeit.hta

that will delete the file
