How do I remove XP from my computer? I purchased it with
XP on it but I would rather have 98. Any help??

Microsoft no longer support Windows 98.. you would be better advised to get
used to XP.. if it is the look and feel that you do not like, you can give
Windows XP the same look as Win 98.. right click on the Start button and
select Properties and then Classic.. then go to Settings - Control Panel -
System - advanced tab - Performance - settings and select adjust for best
performance..

Good luck

AFAIK You will need to re-format the drive completely, as your drive
will be running NTFS, and I don't thnk W98 will work with anything
above FAT32.

After format you'll need to boot off the WIN98 CD-ROM and follow the
setup.

Can't say I blame you. With now over 70 megs of patches
to make XP secure and work, it's like an ol man limping
along. Sure W98se won't be supported but so what. It
runs just as fast as XP in tested conditions. One basic
advantage (besides the so called pretty look of XP) is
that it has more security for files....etc and can use
more RAM.

Paolo T. is correct on the way to do it. Wipe out the
HD drive, delete the partitions and format FAT 32 and
reinstall. You will lose all data and have to reinstall
everything. A big task!!! Backup your important DOCS.

If you can get a friend to make you a WIN 98SE bootup
disk with FDISK on it then you have all you need. Boot
from the floppy, run FDISK, delete the partitions,
format, load your W98se CD, boot from the CD and install.

What would you rather Microsoft did? Perhaps produce XP version 2 and charge
for it.. then 3 and 4.. They attempt to block loopholes that are found by
people who have made a profession out of trying to undermine XP and
Microsoft.. Win98SE is the limping ol man that is being left behind.. it has
had its day.. let it rest in peace

Re. the 'one basic advantage (besides the pretty lookof XP), how about
stability, the way that it integrates the various components of a pc.. XP on
a machine designed to run it is every bit as fast and some, and is more than
comparable to the machines that were introduced with Windows 98 installed
from new..
