I had a system problem and had to re-install a new copy (2nd) of the
operating system.

My question - How do I safely remove the first copy of the operations
system?

If you are talking about Windows XP it will boot from the cd and you can
then choose to reformat and then install (clean) the OS.

I did not choose to reformat, I had too many things on the system I did not
want to loose. So, I did a new install from the CD, to a new folder, and now
I have two versions that are displayed when I start up. I want to be able to
remove the old (corrupted) version from the system. I do not want to remove
or destroy the 2nd version - which is running fine!
