I have purchased a USB 2.0 upgrade when it arrives is it advised to remove
my 4 port 1.1 card and put upgrade in that slot. Will this benefit the PC
power wise or boot up process being slowed with two cards in !
Regards Roger

If you haven't used the interface on that USB 1.1 card for some time,
then removing the card makes sense. It would waste 1 watt of electricity
if you just leave it there.

I own one USB 1.1 card, but it is stored in my junk closet. The only
time I use it, is if I need to test a driver issue of some sort. I have
plenty of USB2 ports (compatible with USB2 or USB1.1), so don't need
that card any longer.

It's not going to hurt anything to have the USB1.1 card there
and if you need the ports for USB devices that don't require a hi-speed
connection you can leave it...
but if the 4 port card you add is enough for all your devices...
you might as well pull the old card

USB 1.1 and 2.0 can coexist safely. It will help you to separate the
USB 1.1 devices rom the USB 2.0 ones.

Now a days, you can NEVER have too many USB ports.
