I downgraded a Windows 2000 DC. The even viewer still has logs for DNS,
Directory Service, and File Replication Service.

Anyone know how I can remove these? They are locked by the system so I can't
delete them.

You'll find the keys (for each log) under;

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Eventlog

just be aware that if you remove tham and something is trying to write to
them other things may break.

That did the trick! Thanks Dave.

P.S. I backed up the keys first, but I don't think there will be an issue.

Yes I don't expect a problem either. Glad to hear it's sorted. You're
welcome.
